матраци

McAfee Users:

If you are running Windows XP you need to check the versions for McAfee and and it’s DAT file. If you have McAfee 8.7 with 5958 DAT you will probably need to follow the steps on this PDF (http://bit.ly/d9Ziw5) to “Rollback your DAT” to Version 5957.

This SHOULD fix the problem. Once you’ve rolled it back, disable auto-updates for the time being.

Check back for updates.

UPDATE (April 21st @ 2:42PM)

Straight from McAfee:

McAfee is aware that a number of corporate customers have incurred a false positive error due to incorrect malware alerts. Our initial investigation indicates that the error can result in moderate to significant performance issues on systems running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

The 5958 DAT has been removed from McAfee download servers, preventing any further impact to corporate customers. McAfee teams are working with the highest priority to support impacted customers and plan to provide an update virus definition file shortly.

The IT people here are working on an easy way for users to fix this for those effected. Since McAfee has pulled the DAT (update) from their servers, it should be safe to turn on your computers, turn McAfee AutoUpdate back on, and allow McAfee to run in general. As soon as an easy to use fix has been released, I will post it here.

UPDATE (April 22st @ 9:10AM)

If you are getting a message when trying to do the “Rollback” method along the lines of “Failed to initialize [...] McAfee Framework Service”, here’s what you will need to do.

Go to Start->Run and the Run Dialog will appear

Type in: services.msc

A window will appear.

Find the McAfee Framework service on there and right-click it.

Click “restart” or “start”, whichever is available for you.

Once you do that, the roll back should work

“Automated” Fix

A somewhat automated fix has been provided by Clemson’s IT Department. Burn the following ISO to a disc, then you can put it in your CD drive and EITHER run it from inside Windows XP OR Boot straight from the CD

http://bit.ly/McAfee5958Patch

NOTE: I don’t know if this will work everywhere or just on Clemson’s Network.

Make me an MP3 CD with ATLEAST 50 songs on it:

Put whatever you want on it

It must be organized in a logical fashion based on the CD

If it a CD of Scores/Soundtracks, organize it by the Game/Movie it came from

If it is just songs by Various artists, categorize by Artists

How to create an MP3 CD:

Data/CD ISO (Preferred since you can make folders)

Place blank CD in you Burner

If you use a CD Burning program, open in and enter the DATA or CD ISO creation

Windows CD Burning wizard also works I believe

Create FOLDERS for your organizational structure

NO Sub-Folders, the player can only read one folder deep

Example:
If you are making a Soundtrack CD, make folder’s like this:

Aladdin

Spider-man

Transformers

Transformers 2

Watchmen

Once you are finished making the folders, make sure they are sorted Alphabetically
Sometimes it actually makes a difference….

iTunes: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-MP3-CD-Using-iTunes

One thing they leave out is that, if I remember correctly, how you have it sorted in iTunes, is how it burns to the CD.

iTunes doesn’t make folders, but that’s alright if this is the only way you can do it.

Let me know if you have any trouble with any of this, and thanks in advance!

I have had a GrandCentral account for a long time now. Since before Google bought them out and then recently turned it into GoogleVoice. I have always loved the service but never really used it, mainly because it didn’t accept SMS (text messages)…. That’s all about to change. I want everyone that has or needs my number to try and use my Google Voice number exclusively. My reasoning for this is that I may soon be getting a new phone, and may get a new number with it which I’m not going to bother to try and update everyone on, I however will always have the GoogleVoice number.

There will of course be a few exceptions to the rule, like if you are on verizon and have limited text messaging or minutes, but this will be my primary number for calls, texts, everything.

So to make this easier on everyone, just use my GoogleVoice number please. It is EightSixFour.SixFourTwo.FourThreeOneEight

So I’ve been meaning to update for about 2 weeks now but I keep getting sidetracked… Lots of stuff to do lately.

A side projected that I have started, along with my friend Paul Best, is a webcomic called Yellow Book Pages. It’s basically some sketch’s we made that turned into a full blown comic and storyline. It’s not too impressive right now, but still fun. Anyways, check it out through the following means

Website: www.ybp-comic.com

Twitter: www.twitter.com/YBP_Comic

Facebook Page: Too long to put here…

Taking classes at Clemson this summer and on the bright side I’m almost finished! Calculus and I don’t get along well, but fortunately I won’t be using it much, if at all, after I graduate when I will be doing IT and web development.

Applying for jobs. That’s always… fun… but necessary if I want to have one.

дивани

That’s pretty much everything I have been busy with lately. I’m sure other stuff will be going on, but for right now I’m just enjoying as much of the summer as I can.

Hopefully I will update more often if I think about it.

I have made a new account on Twitter, the name is mwoodruff.

The purpose of this account is to make a place where all my public tweets will be posted and to allow me to respond to people who aren’t following me (Speaking of, Twitter should allow people to see Tweets you @ them in even if they aren’t following you). Anything that I want anyone to read and stuff that will be posted on my Facebook status (because it’s annoying for me to put # or any symbol infront of my tweets to filter for Facebook) and for people who I don’t know personally, but want to follow me.

If I don’t know you personally then I will be removing you from my followers list on MattyLight if I haven’t already, so you should start following mwoodruff. No hard feelings, just trying to organize and consolidate.

For those of you that I know personally, you don’t need to do anything. The plan right now is that MattyLight will contain ALL of my tweets and mwoodruff will only contain some of them.

UPDATE: I won’t be posting all of my @replies on both accounts, just the ones that are through the respected accounts.

The Tesla Motors Roadster has been shipped.

Never heard of it?
It’s a new electric car, but not like many you have heard of… here’s what’s awesome about it:

This car is gorgeous!
Yeah, very nice looking

0 – 60 in 3.9s
Very impressive for an electric

13,000 RPM redline
Also impressive

256mpg equivalent
“Equivalent” because, well… it umm, doesn’t use gas…

220 miles per charge
Decent range, not the best, but it will get most people where they are going.

Down-side?
Well, it costs $109,000 which is a bit out of my, and most people’s, price range.
Since it is fully electric, it means that it has a large amount of computer and software driven components which means that something could go wrong, but hopefully it won’t…

Check it all out at http://www.teslamotors.com/
